Southern Frontier was born from Sophia Chen's own season of pause and renewal. After a decade as a data scientist in the fast-paced Silicon Valley tech industry, she stepped back to ask what kind of life and work could feel more honest, grounded, and alive.
Pu'er became the bridge. First introduced to Yunnan's great tea through her father during her university years in Hangzhou, Sophia returned to it with fresh eyes: not as a distant tradition, but as a daily practice of clarity, strength, and connection.
Our mission is to demystify ancient-tree Pu'er and make it transparent, accessible, and joyful for modern life. The tea comes from the mountains, but the spirit belongs anywhere people are learning to adapt, endure, and begin again.
